Culture Wars: branding, tracking, opinion monitoring….revolution as commodity….gentrification and racism. Presentation of/participation in sham democracy. Opposition demonized, Religious Right…apocalypse visions.
Children are regarded as possessions and have no other legal standing. They are socialized respectively in tiered systems of education over which parents and community have little control. They are taught lies and skills that resign them to the fate of their social position.
DIALECTIC: constriction brings the contradictions to the surface: creates the conditions to undermine…life must be sustained…pushes us out of the controlled patterns of living…need to experiment, reach out à breaking the illusions maintained to steal/concentrate our rights, allowed by our own passivity and complicity/laziness (willingness to play along)…reveals the true nature…judge by actions and result not explanation/appearance. Thirst for satisfactory lived experience…GLOBAL CULTURE/INTELLIGIBILITY
Government structure: “representative” democracy an illusion and scam…puppets of wealth, consumer surveys pinpoint what reality the subjects will bear, cook the books, brew up a noxious farce. Fleece the poor and middle class, paycheck deductions and inverted tax structure fund massive centralized services to monitor and operate upon the citizenry with impunity, resources and technology re-create this global nightmare military capacity. Vying management teams public employees engaged in the production of law but there’s no justice it’s invalid behind closed doors they carve up wealth and think of the citizenry with regards only to strategies on how best distance themselves from reality their hands stained with blood, kiss a baby, kill a prisoner, underscore the precarious nature of the situation and the limited resources available.
Media: the reality manipulators got us standing around a box while they’re robbing us blind. Misinformation is the white noise, the dull roar builds up static charges around us pushing through space. To influence consumer preference is secondary. Much more important is the distraction simulacrum the substitute for reality addictions to which we build up tolerance Cartesian planes interpolated between flickering pixels and rolling waves of light.
Neohumanism:
The need for a new society. The need for new ethics. A matter of raising strong moral awareness. The belief that the world must change, that society cannot commit suicide and that the world cannot come to an end. An alternative proposition (Ramonet). An alternative economic model to neoliberalism. A participatory rather than representative model of democracy, being involved on an ongoing basis in the discussions and decisions that impact day-to-day life. An all inclusive model.
Power is the fetish – it is what the super-elites have and use; it is the fantasy and dream of wealth. Power creates the modern world in its own image. We keep each other in line in hopes of being rewarded. We grasp onto what we have – intelligence, strength or beauty – and whore it to the highest bidder. Play out these fantasies of power and domination with each other – makes it real, makes it normal.
Separate spheres model: realities arranged spatially such that the worlds seldom overlap.
social compact: governments formed by people, taken over by capital. We agree to delegate our rights in order to accomplish goals and maintain values upon which we have consensus. Manipulation by media, social structure to reproduce conditions. Vying management teams 2 party system corporate contributions/tax breaks and “law”. Private vs. collective/shared/common wealth: abstract value of money vs. life-sustaining conditions…diamond/water paradox.
Society comprised of: super-elites, the wealthy, the middle class and the poor. The super-elites govern, supervise and structure. They exist mostly out of sight and create the historical record (to include their own character and actions), a culture of power. The wealthy inherit or earn their position by carrying out the projects and tasks that serve the super-elites…a culture of vanity. The middle class serve the wealthy and exist in spectrum. The most intelligent, servile and brutal may make their way to the troughs of power but complacency and fear prevail. Increasingly, the middle class lifestyle buys less with more work. This tension is easily focused downward – the middle class ignore the diminishing returns of their investment out of fear of losing their position on the second least desirable social rung. They get what they get. The poor exist to serve the middle class and to be an example for those who don’t play along. There exists little possibility of social mobility for members of the underclass. A legacy of hatred and ignorance shackles poverty to the darker races. Imprisonment, institutionalization or abandonment are reserved for them – test subjects and torture victims…an experiment to encourage the worst animal parts of man, to discover in even greater detail how to utilize power to control humans. Indigenous people – history of genocide, barbarism, conquest.
War Economy: corporations are clans of the super-elites they hone packs of wolves billions of miles of circuitry are the nerves they fly on wings of supersonic jets, let loose with claws and jaws of extraction, teeth drip saliva and gore. Territory surveyors, appraisers, conquistadors trapped in tunnel vision an inexorable mathematics and the burning fever of tyranny form the axis displayed on battle helmets, boots crunching, eyes widen and focus highlight infrared haze of blood once the world is re-created in 3-D somehow OK now these body parts of children strewn about.
Women are valued physically as possessions or objects and responsible for social reproduction (Fortunati). Men are indoctrinated in abstraction and violence to serve the needs of imperialism. Both sexes in the middle and underclass are workers, though they lack a comprehended identity as such.
